Backpack
Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 26, 2026
Backpack is an Android file manager designed for controller-first handheld workflows. Backpack does not require an account.
Backpack does not collect, store, or sell personal information. File operations are performed locally on your device.
Backpack does not use advertising SDKs.
Backpack requests storage-related permissions only to provide core file manager functionality (browse, copy, move, delete, extract, and manage files). File content stays on your device unless you choose to move or share files yourself.
Backpack can connect to user-configured network file servers (such as FTP, SFTP, and SMB) only when you add and use those connections.
Connection details you provide (for example host, username, and port) are stored on your device and used only to connect to your selected server. Backpack does not transmit these connection details to a Backpack backend service.
Protocol security depends on your setup. SFTP and secure SMB configurations provide encrypted transport. FTP may transmit credentials and file data without encryption depending on server configuration.
This policy may be updated over time to reflect app or legal changes. Updates are posted on this page.
